Memorial Day

I spent Memorial Day 2012 in Section 60 of Arlington National Cemetery. It was the somberest of days.

The sun sets on Section 60.


The grave of Pfc. David H. Sharrett II is seen at Arlington National Cemetery. Sharrett, who served in the 101st Airborne Division, was killed by friendly fire North of Baghdad, Iraq during a combat operation. Sharrett was the 3,595th American servicemember to die in Iraq.
